Uhuru is the Swahili word for freedom. For us, it represents the freedom and independence we seek in the mountains.
IT harkens back to our shared roots in the cradle of humanity. IT reminds us that while we may seem different we share a connected ancestry And that together we are strong.
in the name of this connected geneology, we strive to partner with outstanding retailers, brands, and ambassadors to connect better with local communities and build relationships authentically in pursuit of a unified tomorrow.

Geneva Mayall
Community Leader
Geneva is based in what is now called Bend, OR, and also known as the original ancestral lands of the Wasco, Warm Springs, and Northern Paiute. As a Native woman, she honors the land by fully immersing herself in nature as much as possible whether it’s skiing, biking, rafting or trail running. Geneva has worked in bike and ski shops and worked hard to gain the knowledge and skills in order to create safe spaces for community members to learn about gear and safety in the outdoors. Her hope is to make the outdoors a more accessible place by identifying and knocking down the barriers that prevent various communities’ access to outdoor recreation. When she’s not in the mountains, Geneva is working at a local environmental non-profit as the Youth Education Program Coordinator, creating programs for our future stewards to get outside and use nature as a classroom.
